The story of me…
I waited quite a long time before I got my first RR, and finally was able to bring Zuki home from the Czech Republic in 2005. Luckily that didn’t make the choice of this breed any less right – I had to have one more! Ami joined the pack in 2006, also from the Czech Republic. In 2009, the pack was expanded with Zippo and Diwa from my A-litter. From the C litter in 2014, Chumi stayed with me. In 2021 I brought home Quba from the Czech Republic.
My background in breeding and generally working with dogs is fairly extensive. Although my experience in breeding is so far limited to a few litters, I have a lot of practical and theoretical knowledge about the development and behavior of dogs.
I am a trained behavior consultant at Turid Rugaas, but in extension have a lot of courses with other specialists: Anders Hallgren, Runar Næss, Bente Iversen, Roger Abrantes, Lars Fält, Morten Egtved and many more. In addition, I have the first part of the education from UTIKA with Marianne Thorndal in Arden. I have also done some puppy testing for, among others, the Rhodesian Ridgeback club for a number of years, and in that way I have acquired a lot of knowledge about the Ridgeback.
In 2014 I was trained as an exterior judge for the Rhodesian Ridgeback, and through this training I have acquired extensive knowledge of anatomy.
Despite only breeding a few litters, I have achieved an incredible number of top results and titles from the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club. I am, among other things, Breeder of the Year of Opposite sex 2017/2018 (Akizuri Titi Bizi) 2021/2022 (Akizuri Chumani by Argos) and Breeder of the Year 2018/19 (Akizuri Chumani by Argos). In addition, I have bred several Multi Champions.
The most important thing for me in my breeding is physically healthy and mentally well-functioning dogs – but of course I also have a breed-typical appearance in mind! However, I believe that health and mentality are of the highest priority.
I have of course gone through DKK’s Breeder’s education, and regularly participate in courses on genetics and breeding. I have also been a board member and treasurer of the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club from 2009-2014, where I have also been a member and leader of the Exhibition Committee and the Breeding and Health Committee.
